Fiction Work in Development

A Chaos in Quiet

I am currently developing and drafting what I hope will be my debut novel — a fantasy romance created for a New Adult audience. A Chaos in Quiet (working title) is an enemies-to-lovers story with the added layer of political conflict and religious trauma. It is a great read for anyone who has ever fallen for the “bad boy/girl/person,” found themselves enamored with the idea of a soulmate, or thought, “I can fix them.”

This story follows two magic-users who grew up in rival schools of magical thought, now on opposite sides of a war. They were drawn to each other the moment they met, but have been separated for a decade. Now that they have a chance to explore their explosive connection, political and societal circumstances threaten to end things before they start. They find themselves torn between their upbringings and their feelings for one another. If they are to have any hope of being together, they must carefully navigate both the ideological conflict around them, as well as their pre-conceived notions about each other.

Why the Darlings Must Die

I have also completed another novel, Why the Darlings Must Die. This piece is genre-bending commercial fiction, blending slow-burn psychological thriller and atmospheric horror with elements of mystery and a dash of romance. This 83,000-word story made for millennials explores the themes of power, fame, control, and survival through the eyes of a young actress who discovers that she is not in control of her own career and the person who is may not have the best intentions.

If you are interested in becoming a beta reader for either of both of these pieces, please let me know!

Published Pieces

I do have one finished short story which I posted on Reddit years ago. It’s called “Help Needed on the Railroad,” and it’s an atmospheric horror piece inspired by the daily commute I was making from the middle of New Jersey to Manhattan. Every. Single. Day.

One commenter said it was, “by far the most chilling encounter [they’ve] ever read here or maybe even anywhere,” which was super nice for my first time posting fiction.
